Christmas in July...food & wine matches

Right now, it doesn't really feel like there is much to celebrate. Not being able to see friends and family is the complete opposite of festive isn't it? But perversely, that gives you more reason to make an effort and do something fun and celebratory. Like celebrating Christmas in July. Anna's birthday is July 24th so we've never done Christmas in July as it's always been about her at that point of the month, but with not a whole lot else on the agenda right now, I'm thinking I could definitely back up her birthday with a Christmas in July celebration.

I won't go the whole way with decorations, but I will definitely go all out with menu. What else would I be doing on Saturday after all?! Apart from walking...and doing my stretches!! And thanks to BWS, if you're organised and shop online before 11.59pm tomorrow, July 18th, you'll save $20 when you spend $150!! Whoop, whoop!

I've put together a little menu featuring recipes from Dietitian Edition's eBook, 'For The Love' which is filled to the brim with deliciousness (it's available for download from her website HERE xx).

  • entree: Warm Haloumi, Pumpkin & Cauli Bowl or Zucchini Ravioli

  • main: Prawn & Chorizo Spanish Paella or Chicken Quesadillas

  • dessert: Choc Raspberry Bliss Bites and Raw Peanut Butter & Dark Chocolate Bites

To get all these recipes (and a whole heap more) head to Dietitian Edition.

Whilst these recipes may not be traditionally Christmassy, 2020 is so so far from the norm why not mix it up a bit?! Plus they are nutritionally superior choices thus creating balance if you choose to have a couple of Chrissy dranks right?!!!!!

A Mornington Peninsula vino, Domesticated Duck Pinot Noir is an elegant & sophisticated wine with a beautiful red hue. Enticing aromas spring from the bottle, & the flavour is perfectly balanced with key notes of cherry at the forefront of the palate. Also, it has a really pretty label!

A Melbs distiller, Patient Wolf uses pure Australian water and a combination of carefully selected local and exotic botanicals. Patient Wolf Gin 700mL is perfect in a classic G&T. Using a contemporary distilling process unqiue to Patient Wolf, the gin is distilled in small batches to ensure premium quality and taste.

These are all organic vinos, makes me feel a bit healthier ;-)

If you are doing the right thing and not leaving the house unless it's absolutely essential right now, the good news is BWS DELIVERS!

So who is in for Christmas in July next week? You could even celebrate with friends, cooking the same things and drinking the same vinos and Zooming...if you didn't get enough Zoom first time round that is! You could get extra festive with these rad Zoom backgrounds from Good Day Club.

They don't have Zoom backgrounds and look how boring!

The only thing left to add is, WILL YOU CHRISTMAS IN JULY WITH ME???? It will be fun. Or at least you'll have a good dinner anyways ;-) xxxx
